About Us

Who We Are

Destination Denver Realty was started with one thing in mind: building lasting relationships through amazing customer service. Laura was working as a broker associate in 2010 and noticed a missing piece of the real estate market... it was difficult to find any destination services companies to help the many corporations moving their people to the metro area. With that in mind, in April of 2011, she started as a very small, independent and solely woman owned real estate company with a focus on Destination Services and Relocation. Business began to grow too fast for Laura to ensure every client's needs were exceeded and added Christy Krause as a Broker Associate and then kept growing to the team you see below today. Our drive to provide the best customer service never waivers. We look forward to helping you find your "amazing".

Best part of the job: Building relationships that last.

Simply stated, Laura Demaree doesn’t know the meaning of the word bored. On the (literal) move since she was a baby, Laura has changed her address 23—yes, 23— times! From Missouri to Arkansas to Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, and then back to Colorado, Laura has experienced the ups, downs and in-betweens of relocation.

Inspired by a desire to provide the highest level of service not only to local buyers, renters, and sellers but to those relocating to the Denver area as well, Laura started Destination Denver Realty in 2010. Her company now employs five Broker Associates—including her husband, Doug—a Destination Services Specialists, and a Vice President of Relocation, all focused on helping clients settle into their new surroundings. Whether clients are interested in neighborhood tours, hunting for the best home or apartment to rent, or are looking to buy or sell a primary residence, vacation home, or investment property, Destination Denver Realty has them covered!

For Laura—who is a licensed Realtor, a former board member of the Rocky Mountain Relocation Council (RMRC), and who belongs to the Worldwide ERC (Employee Relocation Council)—her job is a dream come true. “I love owning my own company and ensuring that each client is treated with the same respect and care regardless of whether they’re buying a multimillion-dollar home, looking to rent for a while, or anywhere in between.”

When she’s not working, Laura is most assuredly not bored, finding time instead to keep up with her three kids, her cycling-enthusiast husband, or exploring the downtown area where they now resides

Laura can be reached at laura@destinationdenverrealty.com or 303-909-0191.

SIDEBAR:

Five Little-Known Facts About Laura:

  • Graduated from Smoky Hill High School in Aurora.
  • Holds a degree in psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
  • Is left-handed, which means she’s unlike 90% of the people you’ll ever meet.
  • Started Destination Denver Realty with only one employee: Herself. (Who says you can’t help clients while battling a kidney infection and 104-degree fever?)
  • Co-workers describe her as passionate, driven, smart, caring, and always there when you need her (like when you can’t make it back from vacation in time to pick your dogs up from the kennel).

Quote:

“I truly love the feeling I get when clients walk into the house—the one that will become their home—and their faces light up…That right there is my happy place.”

Also Known As: The One Who’s Really into the Details

Once an engineer, always an engineer—well, until he becomes a Realtor, that is. Then he’s the most analytical Realtor around!

Like many in the industry, Doug’s path into real estate wasn’t a direct one. Raised in Aurora, Colorado, Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. With a diploma in hand and wife, Laura, at his side, Doug took a job with Motorola in Chicago. Over the course of his 25-year career as a systems engineer, Doug’s work would also take them to Phoenix and ultimately back to the Denver Tech Center area, where they settled down to raise their three kids and take full advantage of Colorado living.

It wasn’t until shortly after Laura started Destination Denver Realty that Doug felt the nudge to shift careers and trade his corporate life for a family-owned-business life. He officially joined the company in 2012, becoming a licensed Real Estate Broker Associate at the Employing Level and immediately digging into the details of real estate laws, rules and regulations, and analyzing market cycles, trends, and statistics to best benefit his clients.

When he’s not working, you will almost certainly find Doug on his bike—on area trails, roads, or even on his indoor trainer during winter months! A self-professed ‘NARP’ (his unofficial term for a non-athletic regular person), Doug loves the feeling that results from a strenuous ride and the mental clarity it often brings.

Doug can be reached at doug@destinationdenverrealty.com or 303-345-8776.

Job Title: Vice President of Relocation
What It Should Be: Supreme Resource for All Things Relo
Also Known As: The Company Mom

Whether you’re moving to the Denver area for a few months or hoping to plant roots here for a lifetime, Dolores Mozer is one person you want to know. Why? Because she brings more than three decades of relocation know-how to her position—and she’s also really easy to talk to.

As the first point of contact for most of Destination Denver Realty’s relocation clients, Dolores says the best part of her job is getting to know each client’s situation and making them feel at ease about their upcoming move. Whether they’re being transferred out of the area and need advice about selling their home or are transferring into the area and have countless questions about neighborhoods, school districts, art venues, etc., Dolores strives to pair them with the broker who can best meet their needs.

Throughout her own life, she’s experienced firsthand the adventure of six corporate relocations, and has lived in St. Louis, Missouri (where she grew up), as well as Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas and—for the last 30+ years—Colorado. Professionally, Dolores has worked for real estate brokerages as well as moving companies, and has found her current position to be the perfect fit! She is a Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) and belongs to the Relocation Directors Council (RDC) as well as the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council (ERC).

When she’s not sharing the ins and outs of relocation with others, you’re likely to find Dolores spending time with her family or sampling delicious fare from new restaurants—and sometimes she even dares to do both at the same time!

Dolores can be reached at dolores@destinationdenverrealty.com or 303-475-5045.

SIDEBAR:

Five Little-Known Facts About Dolores:

  • Once (accidentally) hit her Algebra teacher—a nun—with an eraser during class.
  • Has 14 grandchildren and swears she loves them all equally.
  • Loves to travel almost as much as she loves her family.
  • Is afraid of heights (but didn’t let that stop her from literally crawling onto a bridge above a waterfall in Yellowstone National Park to check out the view).
  • Co-workers call her The Company Mom—kind, caring, determined, down-to-earth, perpetually optimistic, and seems to know everyone in town!

Job Title: Broker Associate
What It Should Be: Connoisseur of Life Experiences
Also Known As: A Rocky Mountain Girl at Heart

Christy can perhaps be best described as a Coloradan who loves her adopted home state as much as she loves to travel and seek out life’s adventures! This unique combination allows her to understand both the excitement and tension that often surface during a relocation, as well as the importance of finding just the right place to call ‘home.’

Born in Ohio but raised in Colorado Springs from the age of 5, Christy attended Coronado High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Colorado Boulder. Upon graduation, she set her sights on New York City, where she became a Vice President for the Morgan Stanley Institutional Equity Trading Floor early in her career. Soon after, she and her husband, Trent, moved to Barcelona, Spain, for one of his work assignments. Their first son was born abroad, which led to a whole new level of getting to know their new city, its culture and customs—and its medical facilities!

Once back in the United States, they briefly settled in Connecticut before returning to Colorado to raise their growing family. Years later, when a work opportunity once again opened the door to living abroad, Christy, Trent, and their three children packed up and relocated to England for three years. While it wasn’t easy to leave family and friends, it was certainly an amazing opportunity to explore another part of the world together.

Upon returning to Colorado in 2011, the Krauses settled in Castle Pines—just far enough from city life to enjoy the peace and quiet but still only 10 minutes away from seemingly everything they need. When Christy was presented with the opportunity to join Destination Denver Realty a short time later, she knew it would be just the right fit. Now a licensed Realtor, Christy brings together her years of personal relocation experience and love of travel to help clients establish their new lives in a new city.

Christy can be reached at christy@destinationdenverrealty.com or 720-470-9010.

SIDEBAR:

Five Little-Known Facts About Christy:

  • Packed up and moved to New York City at age 22, armed only with a college degree and a sense of adventure.
  • Lived in Australia, Spain, and England (in Melbourne, Barcelona, and West Leake, to be exact).
  • Has been a CU season ticketholder since college graduation—even when living out of the country!
  • Recently traveled to the Czech Republic for the third time, coordinating activities and teaching English as part of a family camp.
  • Hopes to swim a 10K (alongside Destination Denver Realty President Laura Demaree) by the end of this year.

“I feel blessed to help people in their journey of settling into a new community. It’s not just about finding a dream home—which is always fun—but also about helping them find the right fit as they start their lives somewhere new.”

One Thing You’ll Never See: Her picture on a business card or park bench.

It’s true! While Amy has a newly discovered passion for real estate, she has no desire to tell the world by blanketing communities with her picture. What she does want to do is tell—and show—clients and prospective residents what makes Colorado such a great place to live.

Herself a transplant from another state (California), Amy has lived the last 20+ years in Colorado, first as a student at the University of Colorado Boulder, then as a newlywed in Leadville for 5 years, then Breckenridge for 9 years, and now the Front Range, where she, her husband, and their four children have lived since 2012.

Initially drawn to the Ken Caryl valley for its mountain-like setting and proximity to the city, Amy relishes time spent with family and friends on nearby trails, hiking, biking, dog-walking, cross country skiing—you name it. If it’s not yet obvious, this longtime swimmer-now-turned-tennis-player simply loves the outdoors! That said, she does admit to spending some time indoors, shopping, checking out art museums, or sampling local craft beers.

Amy can be reached at amy@destinationdenverrealty.com or 970-485-9343.

SIDEBAR:

Five Little-Known Facts About Amy:

  • Once rappelled off the top of Morning Glory Arch in Moab, Utah.
  • Former Crossfit enthusiast who now simply tries to survive the workouts.
  • Has five older brothers, making her a tomboy at heart.
  • Was a third-grade teacher in her previous life.
  • Believes in the power of caffeine to get you fueled in the morning—and refueled in the afternoon.

Best Part of the Job: Meeting people from all walks of life and helping them find their place to call home.

There may be ‘no place like home,’ but for oil-and-gas-landman-turned-burgeoning-real-estate-agent Scott Weirich, there’s also nothing quite like learning what lies beyond the familiar.

Born in Denver and raised in Oklahoma City, Scott earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and his master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. Over the next 40 years, his extensive career in the oil and gas industry would lead him to work for extended periods of time in more than 23 states, ranging from Michigan to Texas and west to California and Washington and most states in between!

Never one to shy away from experiencing firsthand what other locales have to offer, Scott came to appreciate different aspects about each of them—but always came back ‘home’ to Colorado, repeatedly drawn in by its people and active outdoor lifestyle. (Although he admits he still “bleeds orange” for his beloved Oklahoma State Cowboys.) Married over 23 years, Scott and his wife Ruth live in Centennial’s Homestead neighborhood, which they love for its close-knit community feel. They are also longtime property owners in Summit County, where they enjoy skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, and simply enjoying life in the great outdoors.

Now a licensed agent, Scott can readily relate to clients who are relocating to the area from other states and countries, as well as those who may looking for their ‘next’ home here in the Denver Metro down to Woodland Park or surrounding mountain areas.

Scott holds the prestigious GRI Designation and is a member of SMDRA and PPAR

Scott can be reached at scott@destinationdenverrealty.com or 720-775-3733.

SIDEBAR:

Five Little-Known Facts About Scott:

  • Has visited all 50 states, with Hawaii, Colorado and—wait for it—Oklahoma ranking among his favorites.
  • Once worked as a security guard for a national hotel chain in San Diego solely as a means for soaking in the experience of beach-town living.
  • Is an avid skier who has been a season passholder for 19 years (and counting)
  • Loves to travel—both in the United States and abroad—and lists Prague in the Czech Republic and Strasbourg in France among his favorite international cities. (Southern Spain and New Zealand are still on his proverbial Travel Bucket List.)
  • Is described as conscientious, kind and dependable by those who know him best—so don’t let his dry sense of humor fool you!

Job Title: Broker Associate
What It Should Be: Man Around (Down)Town
What You Shouldn’t Ask Him: “Want to taste something weird?”

Extroverted, driven, conscientious—and, okay, maybe just a bit eccentric. That’s how Drew Germain is described by those who know him best, and it’s just part of what he brings to his role as Destination Services Specialist. Throw in a dose of enthusiasm, a good sense of humor, and a sincere appreciation for all Colorado has to offer, and you start to get the bigger picture.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Drew came to Denver by way of North Dakota. In fact, it was during his time at the University of North Dakota (UND) that he was first introduced to the Colorado landscape. A competitive diver, Drew and his UND team traveled to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs regularly, and it was those trips that would eventually influence him to move to the Centennial State for good.

Now a five-year resident of the Mile-High City, Drew soaks up Colorado living on a daily basis—and loves to share all that he’s discovered with those visiting or moving into the area. Whether it’s exploring various neighborhoods, checking out new restaurants and breweries, or taking a quick drive to Red Rocks or other nearby natural wonders, Drew relishes the opportunity to help newcomers become better acquainted with the area. And while Drew may be a bit of a daredevil when it comes to outdoor escapades like snowboarding across steep terrain or hiking in inclement weather, he admits that his daring sense of adventure does not extend to foods. So while he’s happy to introduce you to the legendary or latest and greatest eateries in the Denver Metro area, he may not be as quick to join you in sampling their unique cuisine or Rocky Mountain delicacies (but if it’s pizza or mac and cheese, he’ll be there for you).

Drew can be reached at drew@destinationdenverrealty.com or 763-516-5277.

SIDEBAR:

Five Little-Known Facts About Drew:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota.
  • Once hiked a fourteener in mid-November, where he and his 4-pound Yorkiepoo encountered a herd of unyielding mountain goats amid an unexpected snowstorm. (No, he’s not likely to repeat that adventure anytime soon.)
  • Is an avid runner who recently completed his first half marathon.
Serves as a Junior Olympic coach for a local dive club, where he can pass on his own passion and skills to the next generation of springboard and platform divers.
  • Is an NFL fan who bleeds purple and orange. (Well, not exactly, but he can be found cheering for the Denver Broncos or Minnesota Vikings throughout the football season.)
